The portrait of a young woman with a serene and sweet air, almost angelic, simultaneously sad and happy, hides a mystery, even more so when very little is known about the artist’s most famous canvas.

The painting “Girl with the Pearl Earring”, painted by the Dutchman Johannes Vermeer, in 1665, may well represent a young woman in an everyday moment, in the midst of her household chores, with a blue scarf on her head and a pearl earring, which becomes the focal point of the painting.

There are several speculations about the canvas, so much so that its depiction has already inspired a book and a movie, based on found notes by the author.
